Video Marketing Statistics for 2018

Video marketing continues to grow and grow and we’re sure the figures from 2019 will kick these already glowing figures out of the water.

But let us expand on some of the statements we’ve quoted.

 

“81% of business used video as a marketing tool in 2018”:

We can see that businesses are adopting video as a marketing tool almost exponentially. In 2017 it was 63%, 2018 it was 81% and figures just in show that already 87% of businesses are using video in early 2019. That will rise again as businesses start to compete with one another and realise the importance of video in their marketing.

I predict in the noise of competition, ordinary and amateur won’t cut it any more. Renewed emphasis will be placed on production value and professionalism to stand out from the crowd.

 

“95% of people had watched an Explainer Video in 2018”:

Consumers are increasingly valuing watching a business’s video as a tool in their buyer journey. Traditionally most viewers use this as a starting point to build their knowledge and trust of a business/company/corporation, but it has been increasingly shown that it is acting as a ‘tipping point’ in the purchasing or adopting of a product or philosophy. 

 

“81% had been convinced to buy a product by watching a brand’s video “:

Consumers use video as a key principle in their decision making. If a video is made well and addresses your core message – well you’re now in a world of joy as a business.

 

“97% increase in purchase intent when enjoying a video ad”:

Consumers love video, and purchase intent is high when enjoying watching a video. And enjoyment of video advertising increases purchase intent by 97% and brand association by 139%** (Neil Patel, one of the top 10 marketers as called by Forbes).

Forbes continues to say that 53% of viewers actually contacted the business after watching a video, and 51% visited the business’s website.

2019 sees video marketing growing even more and as we can see from 2018 figures, it looks like exponential growth. Take advantage of this to spread your message of change or let the world see your innovative product.
